Napa Valley Chardonnay
88 Points
Suggested Retail: $14.99
Review by Robert Parker Wine Advocate, #178 (Aug 2008)
A Chardonnay Dry White Table wine from Oakville, Napa, North Coast, California
"The lovely 2007 Chardonnay from Oakville offers a touch of toasty oak along with attractive honeysuckle and butterscotch characteristics, serious concentration, excellent acidity, and a rich, heady finish.
A wonderful discovery, Pavilion appears to be making some terrific wines at incredibly low price points."

2007 Bonny Doon Vin Gris de Cigare
California Rose Blend
89 Points
Suggested Retail $15.99
"Very Provence-like, a dry, crisp and spicy blush that’s complex enough to accompany sophisticated Vietnamese or Mediterranean fare. A blend of Grenache, Cinsault, Syrah and other southern French varieties, it shows a rich, tobacco earthiness to the cherry flavors." - S.H. (11/1/2008) - 89

2007 Morgan Metallico Chardonnay
Monterey, California
91 Points
Suggested Retail: $20.99
"Morgan has been a real pioneer in the unoaked Chardonnay movement, and when the wine scores, it scores big. Consider this a run-scoring triple. It’s totally dry, very acidic (officially, 7.13 g/L, for the statistically-minded) and austere, with a hard edge of minerals. What fruit there is suggests tart green apples and white nectarines. Believe me, you won’t miss the oak." - S.H. (12/15/2008) - 91

2006 Clayhouse Vineyards Late Harvest Petite Sirah
Paso Robles, California
90 Points
Suggested Retail: $26.99 375ml
"Glass-staining purple. Seductively perfumed scents of ripe boysenberry, plum and incense. Lush, creamy dark berry flavors are given a bitter edge by cherry skin and anise. Quite sweet and jammy, with no rough edges and impressive finishing cling. There are plenty of table wines out there that are warmer and less elegant than this wine. These grapes were harvested at 28o Brix and the wine was bottled with 8% residual sugar." Nov/Dec 2008 |

2007 Clayhouse Vineyards Sauvignon Blanc
Paso Robles, California
90 Points
Suggested Retail: $14.99
"This well-made wine keeps overt herbaceousness in check and its scents of flowers and strong theme of sweet figs come with but the faintest accents of fresh herbs. Rich and weighty with a little more body and suggestions of plushness on the palate, it shows a few ragged edges owing to its obvious youth, but its fruity extract and depth are such that we feel fully comfortable in arguing for another year of age." GOOD VALUE September 2008 |
