2005 Kapcsándy Cabernet Sauvignon
"State Lane Vineyard"

95 Points

Suggested Retail: $159.99

Review by Robert Parker Wine Advocate, #174 (Dec 2007) ; Drink 2012-2030

A blend of 80% Cabernet Sauvignon and the rest Merlot and Cabernet Franc, the opaque purple-hued 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon State Lane Vineyard is a rich, full-bodied effort displaying notes of cedar, truffles, black currants, coffee, chocolate, and spice. With sweet tannin, full-bodied power, and impressive purity and length, this rich, backward, Bordeaux-styled wine does not ignore the wealth and extravagant fruit of Napa Valley. In short, the best of both worlds.

2004 Rudd Oakvill Estate Proprietary Red Wine

94 Points

Suggested Retail $114.99

Wine Advocate #168 (Dec 2006), Drink 2006-2021
The 2004 Oakville Estate Proprietary Red (a 2,500-case blend of 83% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Petit Verdot, 8% Merlot, and 1% Cabernet Franc) was aged 20 months in French wood. It exhibits a deep ruby/purple color followed by scents of licorice, black currants, underbrush, charcoal, and spice characteristics. With terrific fruit as well as an opulent texture, it should drink well for 12-15 years.

2005 Rudd Bacigalupi Vineyard Chardonnay
90 Points

Suggested Retail: $59.99

Wine Advocate #174 (Dec 2007), Drink 2007-2011

"The outstanding 2005 Chardonnay Bacigalupi Vineyard has a lemon tartness, medium to full body, and a beautiful, almost Chablis-like personality, but not the complexity of the 2006. It is best drunk in its first 2-4 years of life. A totally new viticultural and wine-making team is in place at Rudd, including viticultural manager, Bill Vyenielo, as well as superstars David Abreu and Michel Rolland. The new winemaker in addition to Rebekah Wineburg is Pat Sullivan. I think all of this reflects the meticulous perfectionism of proprietor Leslie Rudd, who wants to push this winery, with its fabulous source of vineyards..."

2004 Hollywood & Vine 2480 Cabernet Sauvignon
93 Points

Suggested Retail: $75.99

Wine Advocate #174 (JDec 2007), Drink 2007-2022
"The stunning 2004 Cabernet Sauvignon (1,750 cases produced) offers an inky ruby/purple color followed by gorgeous aromas of white chocolate, creme de cassis, licorice, and subtle toasty oak. There is fabulous fruit on the attack, medium to full body, an opulent mouthfeel, and a long finish. This flashy effort should drink beautifully for 15+ years.

2006 Hollywood & Vine 2480 Chardonnay
90 Points

Suggested Retail: $44.99

Wine Advocate #174 (Dec 2007), Drink 2007-2010
"A crisp, mineral-laced offering, the 2006 Chardonnay exhibits delicate notes of pears and citrus, medium body, a Chablis-like steeliness, and good acidity as well as freshness. The oak component is nearly concealed by the wine’s personality and style. This is a French-styled Chardonnay that should drink nicely for 2-3 years.
