R.P. Imports was started in 1992 by Ed and Judi Mansing. Both were serious wine lovers with a background in advertising and marketing. When they discovered that many of the small production wines they enjoyed were not available in northern New England, desire met opportunity and R.P. Imports was born.

From our original portfolio of seven boutique California brands to represent in the state of Maine, R.P. Imports has expanded its book to include prestigious wines from California, Oregon and Washington in its domestic portfolio, as well as imports from France, Italy, Spain, Chile, New Zealand, Australia, and South Africa. We are brokers and importers, and work in Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont with a ten-person team of knowledgeable wine professionals. We are the 8th largest supplier to the state of Maine.

From the beginning, R.P. Imports has had a very clear vision about the brands we represent. We pride ourselves on the quality of our portfolio. The brands are varied in price, not in quality. We have developed a reputation based on our ability to “build a brand.” In Maine and Vermont, we work in conjunction with the distributors and augment their efforts with those of our own salespeople. In New Hampshire, our sales team calls on state stores, as well as private on and off-premise accounts.

With offices in both Maine and New Hampshire, R.P. Imports is able to assess the constantly changing market conditions and adjust to them. We travel frequently to visit suppliers and see first-hand the people and vineyards that we represent. This knowledge is invaluable to us as we seek to educate our markets, anticipate and respond to their needs, and increase the market share for our wineries.
